I agree with everything you said, except the part about the "wealthy" adopting Asian babies. I have a few acquaintances that have adopted Asian babies and none of them is wealthy. They either save up for a long time or use credit cards to get it done. One family is struggling, and I don't know how they did it, but I assume that they borrowed the money from somewhere. If you want to adopt badly enough, you find a way. I also don't think it's to impress people. It's extremely expensive to adopt from Russia, and there are very, very few infants of any race available for adoption in this country. I've looked into adopting an infant here, no matter what the race, and there simply aren't any. Very interesting.
