Willow Smith may be known for whipping her hair back and forth, but it looks like she’s going to have to find a new signature catch phrase.

The singer, daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, debuted a new, short look on her WhoSay page via Twitter Thursday. In fact, it looks like Smith ditched her hair altogether and is now sporting a shaved head, similar to her dad and brother Jaden’s new looks.

Smith gave no explanation or reason as to why she decided to switch up her look, but she’s certainly in good company.

So who is he planning to bring in to replace them? If rumours are to be believed, he is eyeing up Beyonce and Mariah Carey to be on the judging panel for season two. He’ll do anything to encourage people to look away from Cheeky Bingo or their Android, long enough to boost the ratings, I suppose.

The Chicago Sun-Times have claimed that Simon is convinced big name stars are the key to gaining the much hyped X Factor some momentum. It seemed to work for American Idol. Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have made the show entertaining again after all, and the show did out perform his latest project.

You can’t deny his logic though. Miss Knowles does have huge appeal and influence. Not to mention both she and Jay Z have expressed interest in the UK version of X Factor in the past. Beyonce performed with one of the finalists, Alexandra Burke (who later became the winner) in 2008. You could easily argue that she helped tip the votes in her favour.

Considering she has not long given birth, will she want to spend her time as a mentor on the X Factor, when she could be spending it with her new born Blue Ivy Carter? Then again she is a workaholic and I don’t believe for a moment that she will become a full-time stay at home Mom.

I guess we’ll see how this one plays out, but my guess is, she won’t do it.

The rapper and marijuana enthusiast appeared to grant his endorsement to GOP candidate Paul on his Facebook page late Monday, posting a picture of Paul with the headline “Smoke Weed Everyday” (pictured). Snoop Dogg — born Calvin Broadus — included the message “Because I said so” with his post.

Broadus — whose most recent marijuana-related arrest occurred earlier this month, at the Texas border town of Sierra Blanca — is presumably drawn to Paul due to the libertarian-leaning candidate’s stance on drugs. Paul, an advocate of smaller federal government, was a co-sponsor of the States’ Rights to Medical Marijuana Act, and supports the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008.

It’s unclear whether Broadus was aware of Paul’s reported history of signing his name to racially-charged newsletters in the 1990s. (Though Paul’s name appears on several pamphlets containing racial rhetoric, he told CNN in December that he was unaware of the controversial passages at the time of their publication, stating, “I’ve never read that stuff. I’ve never read — I came — was probably aware of it 10 years after it was written.)

Though Paul’s chances of grabbing up the GOP nomination appear to be distant, the Texas congressman does appear to be developing quite the stable of musician endorsements — late last year, country singer Kelly Clarkson caught criticism after singing Paul’s praises.

“I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last Republican nomination and no one gave him a chance,” Clarkson said in a tweet. “If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

It’s a girl for Beyonce and Jay-Z!

After years of pregnancy rumors and months of due date whisperings, Beyonce has finally given birth to a baby girl. E! Online reports that multiple sources have confirmed that the couple welcomed their first child Saturday night.

As for the name? E! claims new daddy Jay is telling friends it’s Blue Ivy Carter, but other outlets say it’s Ivy Blue Carter. (UPDATE: Friend Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Sunday morning that the baby is named Blue Ivy Carter.)

Reps for the couple haven’t given the official word on their bundle of joy, but whatever her name, this little girl already has some famous friends sending their love to her.

Rihanna tweeted, “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.” Friend Russell Simmons also offered his congratulations, tweeting, “congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z.”

According to New York Daily News, the superstar booked the fourth floor of the hospital for $1.3 million to make sure that her baby’s entrance into the world was nothing short of fiercely glamorous.

Speculation that Queen B’s due date was nearing was intensified right before New Year’s Eve, as Beyonce’s mother Tina, sister Solange and her family arrived in New York — no doubt to welcome their newest family member.

It was even reported that Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl named Tiana-May Carter before the end of the year, but the rumors were put to rest after a still-pregnant Beyonce was spotted at dinner with Jay-Z on New Year’s Eve in Brooklyn.

Those who were eagerly anticipating the birth of Beyonce’s offspring pegged her due date to late December based on a DVD she released earlier this year, telling fans that she was six months pregnant. “Hello! It’s September 23rd … Right now I’m actually shooting the video for ‘Countdown’ and I’m six months pregnant, pretending that my stomach is flat in body suits,” she said in her “Live at Roseland” DVD, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.

This is the first child for the couple who married in April 2008, uniting two of the biggest names in hip hop. Although B’s baby will not be able to comprehend the magnitude of her parents’ fame for some time, this sure is one lucky tot.

Ryan Gosling welcomed in the New Year with his two leading ladies: girlfriend Eva Mendes – and his mother, Donna.

After spending some quality time together earlier in the day Sunday, the mother-son duo met up with Mendes to go to an AMC movie theater in uptown Manhattan.

“They all hung out and went to the movies together,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Ryan and Eva seemed very happy.”

Gosling, 31, and Mendes, 37, who first stepped out together in September, jetted from Los Angeles to New York City on Friday, once again looking very much like a couple.

“They kept kissing and hugging while they waited to board their flight,” an onlooker at the Los Angeles International Airport tells PEOPLE. “Eva looked gorgeous and kept smiling.”

And it looks like they had their midnight kiss (and then some!): The couple were spotted getting cozy when they left Manhattan’s Bowery Hotel for a party on New Year’s Eve.

“While they waited for a cab outside the hotel, they kept kissing,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “They both looked very happy.”

I have nothing against interracial unions,  I support love being colorblind and gender blind, but as an African-American woman it is hard to explain why black celebrities just seem to be simply allergic to women who look like them. Can anyone say “self hatred?” It’s sad that a black celebrity actually marrying a black woman is newsworthy, but it is, especially in the world of white women obsessed professional sports.

If you want to leave nasty comments about how evil I am for stating this, just take a day or 2 to gather a list of 5 CURRENTLY relevant black athletes in football and basketball who are currently dating or married to actual black women. Just name 5, who are famous and actually still playing , not from the past. Then we will talk. Again, when I say relevant I mean people who are currently playing and famous and not some nobody no one has ever heard of. I promise you it doesn’t exist. Can LeBron James win a ring in style? We’ll find out. Can he present a ring in style? Yes. The King topped off a New Year’s Eve and birthday celebration Saturday by getting engaged.

James, 27, proposed to longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson, the mother of his two children, at SL Nightclub in Miami. The two have been together since James was a national prep star at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio. The couple’s two boys are LeBron, Jr. and Bryce, age 7 and 4, respectively.

The engagement came just a week after Michael Jordan popped the question to Yvette Prieto, making it a popular stretch for basketball icons to get hitched.

The news was immediately followed by a host of Twitter jokes.

We’ll refrain from that and simply congratulate the happy couple. Between the end of the lockout, the birthday, and the proposal, LeBron certainly had a great fourth quarter … of 2011

Oscars or not, Eddie Murphy’s campaign towards Hollywood prominence marches on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary funny man is slated to take on the more serious role of former longtime Washington, DC mayor Marion Barry. Murphy would play the mayor, who served from 1979 to 1991 and 1995 to 1999, in an HBO production directed by Spike Lee.

Barry has spent his public life as a prominent Civil Rights activist, leading marches on Washington before being elected to its school board and then city council. He controlled the political landscape in his city following his election in 1978, though corruption began rising and his personal demons, such as a drug habit, plagued his time in office.

Caught smoking crack cocaine in 1990 , Barry served time in prison before returning to the city council — in 1992, he ran under the slogan “He May Not Be Perfect, But He’s Perfect for D.C.” — and then the mayor’s office once again. He is now again a member of the city council. In 2009 he was arrested for stalking  a former employee.

Currently, Lee is gearing up to shoot a remake of the Korean film, “Old Boy,” while Murphy, who pulled out of his Oscar hosting duties following the resignation of producer Brett Ratner, just starred in Ratner’s “Tower Heist,” and will see his film, “A Thousand Words” hit theaters in the coming months.

Beyonce’s played for sold-out crowds, but videogame makers Gate Five LLC say the singer didn’t play fair when she entered into a deal with them last year, costing the company to lose its $7 million investment in the project along with some $100 million in potential profits.

The singer made a request to toss the suit filed by Gate Five, but a New York judge denied her request yesterday, giving the go-ahead for the video game maker to pursue their case against her, the  New York Daily News  reports.

Without explaining, [Supreme Court Justice Charles] Ramos ruled Gate Five can proceed with civil action charging that Beyonce “double crossed” the firm when she abandoned its project to make a dance video game.

The Associated Press reported on the lawsuit in April noting that Beyonce made a lucrative agreement with Gate Five back in June 2010 for a game called “Starpower: Beyonce,” but later demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.

The suit also claims that the singer’s stunt drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five’s business, forcing 70 people to lose their jobs.

Despite the loss she’s facing, reports put Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z’s net worth in the (still comfortable) $750 million range .

While Keys talked about being pregnant and empathic when filming her documentary about AIDS in Africa, the U2 singer chimed in and said: “She’s scary, isn’t she? She’s scary.”

 

Bono went on to say that Keys has “lioness energy” and that her role as a new mother won’t allow her to “let other mothers suffer.”

He made the comments at the premiere of “Keep a Child Alive with Alicia Keys,” a documentary which followed a visit to South Africa during last year’s World Cup with a pregnant Keys and five Americans. It airs on Showtime on Dec. 1, which is World AIDS Day.

Bono said he met Keys when they recorded a cover of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” – with dozens of other musicians – in 2001.

“I was terrified the moment I met her. I was shaking in my boots,” he said. “I was very moved by her singing of course, but what was interesting was the hard questions afterwards, and I think it’s those hard questions that she asks that lead her.”

Keys started her charity, Keep a Child Alive, in 2003. It assists those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

She says she hopes the film reaches out to those who want to help, but can’t make it to Africa.

“Even if you never have been able to travel there, or if you never can, that doesn’t mean you can’t travel with us and really see it for yourself,” she said.

Bono says Keys has what it takes to make a difference in Africa, and around the world.

“Everyone’s got heart, but actually you have to have the head for this,” he said. “You have to be tough and strategic, you have to be demanding, (and) the money has to be spent well.” If the money isn’t spent well, he said, people get annoyed, “and so all these things take a certain intellectual rigor.”

Keys has composed music for the Broadway play “Stick Fly,” which debuts next week. When Bono – who along with the Edge wrote the music for “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark” – was asked what advice he could give Keys, he said: “You know, it’s an amazing American tradition, Broadway, and she can do anything she wants.”
