More school: Obama would curtail summer vacation
All you school age kids and teenagers are not going to like this one. In the end, it appears to be a brilliant idea..See this is the kind of change Obama was talking about and it’s time our nation catches us to the rest of the world and stop living in denial.
Too many teachers, and students are just plain STUPID and it’s time we stop acting as if having tons of weapons and clout is all it takes for us to remain as a superpower. We need our youth to grow up and become smart, CRITICAL THINKERS, who can compete in science, math, and economics and against other countries like India and China who are pumping out mini-Einsteins every day. Join the petition against Fox News Racist Glenn Beck.
Have you noticed how crazy whites are starting to act lately? They somehow now feel like their perfect little world of power and control is spinning out sorts and their response to this sudden paranoia….. Obama is a racist and he is out to destroy white people.
Obama has been in charge for less than 8 months , and already towns halls are turing into angry mobs. White women are crying and pleading for this country not to go the way of Russia. People are afraid that the government is going to take all their money, yadah, yadah, yadah.
Is it obvious now what this is about? All this is , is the remaining white folks left in this country who cannot and will not accept that a black President is in charge, and they want to conjure up so much attention to their “we are now being discriminated against because we are white” movement that they are saying and doing anything. Like call our half white President who was raised by whites a racist against whites, or those birther lunatics who want to fight like hell to prove that Obama is not an American citizen. The list goes on.
Now it’s time to fight back, Glenn Beck has crossed the line for the final time with his outrageous and untrue comments, and now is your chance to let his advertisers know that you will not support or buy their products if they continue to support him. People, you have got to be seriously willing to stand by this, I know I have, and I will not stop until Beck is off the air.
Here is a video of Fox’s newest racist superstar Glenn Beck
Read the petition and join the fight today
Dear friends,
As you may know, right-wing talk show hosts have been bringing race-based fear mongering into the mainstream, but FOX’s Glenn Beck just took it to another level. On Tuesday, Beck said:
This president has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again who has a deep-seated hatred for white people… this guy is, I believe, a racist.
It’s part of a larger argument Beck has been making: that President Obama wants to serve the needs of Black communities at White people’s expense. This kind of talk stirs up fear, hate, and it can lead to violence.
I’ve joined ColorOfChange.org’s effort to stop Glenn Beck. ColorOfChange is already putting calls into Beck’s advertisers, asking them if they want to be associated with this kind of racist hate and fear-mongering. When the advertisers see that tens of thousands of us are behind that question, I believe they’ll move their advertising dollars elsewhere, and his show and platform will be history.
Will you take a stand and be counted, and invite your friends and family to do the same? It takes just a moment:

Glenn Beck is appealing to the worst in America. Of course, some Americans refuse to accept the fact that our president is Black or the idea that he could truly serve all Americans. But the only way these views fade away is if they’re not reinforced by mainstream society. Instead, folks like Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Rush Limbaugh are exploiting racism and race-based fear to bump their ratings, stirring up racial discord in the process.
The dangers of these tactics are real. We saw the same dynamic during the presidential race: By the end, the McCain/Palin campaign was unable to control the violent energy whipped up by their race-baiting. It resulted in an unprecedented number of threats on Obama’s life, a rise in the number of hate groups, and an increase in the number of threats and crimes against immigrants and Black people.
FOX has a horrible track record on pushing racist propaganda, but Glenn Beck appears to be taking the network to an even lower standard. He’s trying to divide and distract America when we should be coming together and talking about issues that really matter–like health care and the economy.
The good news is that we have the power to stop this. All major media is funded by advertising. And advertisers care more than anything what consumers think. If we want to change what’s happening and put an end to folks like Glenn Beck having a platform, we can do it.
It’s up to us, and it can start now. Please join me:

Obama’s media mania: The message is the message
Since occupying the White House, Barack Obama has hosted fifteen town-hall meetings; appeared in more than 800 images on the White House Flickr photo-stream; and held four prime-time press conferences, the same number held by George W. Bush in his entire presidency. He’s sent a video message to the people of Iran. He’s given an address in Cairo that was translated into fourteen languages. He’s sat on Jay Leno’s couch, where he riffed about the supreme strangeness of having his own motorcade (“You know, we’ve got the ambulance and then the caboose and then the dogsled”), and he’s walked Brian Williams through the White House, where he introduced the anchor to Bo the dog. Two weeks ago, when he made a controversial comment at a press conference (that the Cambridge police had “acted stupidly” toward Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.), he followed up with yet another press appearance in the White House briefing room—and an exclusive interview on Nightline. And that was before he sat down for a well-publicized beer with Gates and the offending officer … Read the rest of this entry »
Michelle Obama in Moscow *Photos*
First lady Michelle Obama continued to charm Russia on Tuesday, where she and the president attended a graduation ceremony at the New Economic School and a President Medvedev-hosted lunch at the Kremlin. President Obama did a bunch of business as well.
Mrs. Obama wore a black and white dress with a black flower brooch on Tuesday. She had also worn a black and white frock on the Fourth of July, and the same color combination to dinner with the Medvedevs on Monday night.

Michael Jackson Fans Raise Money To Defeat Peter King
There is, it turns out, a political price to pay when you make bold statements calling out Michael Jackson for some of the nefarious moments of his personal history.
Fans of Jackson are mobilizing to raise money for an opponent — any opponent — to run against Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., following the critical remarks the congressman made about the recently deceased pop icon.
Over the weekend, King said that the media had gone far over the top in glorifying Jackson, who he deemed a “low-life” pervert who “may have been a good singer” and “did some dancing.”
Now, an ActBlue fundraising site has been set up by “A fan of Michael Jackson” titled “Michael Jackson Fans AGAINST Peter King.”
Here is the offensive video
The site says……”Congressman Peter King is at again, this time defaming the late Michael Jackson, calling MJ a “pervert’, ‘low-life”, and a “pedophile”. As Rick Sanchez noted on CNN, Michael Jackson was acquitted of the charges against him. Peter King ought to let Jackson rest in peace, and focus on the needs of his constituents. As we mourn the loss of an American legend, political grandstanding is not what we need right now!”
“Peter King ought to let Jackson rest in peace, and focus on the needs of his constituents. As we mourn the loss of an American legend, political grandstanding is not what we need right now!” the page reads. “Fans of Michael Jackson and his legacy stand united against Peter King’s hateful words. Please donate here to show Peter King that true MJ fans won’t stand for the smearing of a pop sensation!”
The fund is being set up to benefit the Democratic nominee for New York’s third congressional district — a reliable Republican stronghold. The problem is that at this time, there is no Democratic nominee. And King has flirted with a run for New York’s governor’s chair in 2010. Still, it will be interesting to see the extent to which Michael Jackson devotees can mobilize politically. Who would have thought that the King of Pop’s legacy would become a partisan issue?
Clinton: Push for racial equality far from over
CINCINNATI – The push for racial equality is far from over, in sports and in everyday life, former President Bill Clinton told a crowd at Major League Baseball’s Beacon Awards on Saturday, part of its Civil Rights Game.
Clinton, who as president took part in MLB’s ceremony retiring Jackie Robinson’s No. 42 uniform number in 1997, spoke at a luncheon honoring Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, Muhammad Ali and entertainer Bill Cosby for the trio’s contributions to civil rights and charitable works.
The former president told a crowd of about 1,400 at the Duke Energy Convention Center that despite such racial progress as the election of Barack Obama as president, problems remain that disproportionately hit minorities. Clinton cited unemployment, the mortgage crisis, high cost of college, and access to health care among continuing issues.
“A lot of people might be tempted to believe that the struggle — which both produced these three giants of sports and comedy and gave them the power to help so many others — that struggle for racial equality is over,” Clinton said.
“But I really came here to say if you want to honor Hank Aaron and Muhammad Ali and Bill Cosby, you must first recognize that this struggle is nowhere near over,” he said.
The luncheon was among events leading to Saturday night’s first regular-season Civil Rights Game, between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds.
Ali, whose long battle with Parkinson’s disease has limited his physical activity, remained seated as fellow former boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard presented him his award. Ali looked it over as his wife, Lonnie, spoke on his behalf.
Cosby had the crowd roaring during his acceptance speech, and urged the audience to make sure new generations know what Ali, Aaron and others had to overcome to be successful, and that there is more to be overcome.
“This is not a time to rest,” Cosby said. Read the rest of this entry »
Attention New Yorkers: Never patronize Lafayette French Bakery
Unless your a neo-nazi, please boycott this store.
Neighborhood: Manhattan/West Village
26 Greenwich Ave Frnt
New York, NY 10011

Lafayette French Bakery, a pastry shop in New York’s Greenwich Village, started selling “Drunken Negro Face” cookies on Martin Luther King Day in ‘honor’ of President Obama.
One customer told My Fox NY that store owner Ted Kefalinos said to her, “Would you like some drunken negro heads to go with your coffee? They’re in honor of our new president. He’s following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln; he will get his.”
Kefalinos spoke with Gothamist, and denied suggesting that Obama would be assassinated. However, he saw nothing wrong with the cookies themselves.
Later, he apologized to the New York Daily News.
“I’m sorry that people were offended by the cookie. We were just trying to make a large number of people happy, and instead we made a large number of people confused and angry.”
In a followup interview with My Fox NY, Kefalinos said he had been getting death threats over the cookies. Watch:
***UPDATE***
It appears that this racist pig has had so many threats from people that his phone is ringing off the hook. Instead of that arogant smirk he had in the previous clip, he now has a look of fear on his face because he knows his much beloved bakery will be out of buisness within in month. See this is why I love New Yorkers. They do not fu*k around. I love being liberal, I love NYC, and I love my white brothers and sisters who live there who always keeps it real!
Watch this sorry sack of dough attempt a real apology this time.
‘Fighting extinction’: Boston-area shooter, rapist targeted non-whites
Looks like some whites are already starting to have some meltdowns over having a black president. How sad..here is the story…
Breaking news out of Boston:
A man accused of a horrific rape and killing spree told investigators that he was “fighting extinction” of the white race and had stockpiled 200 rounds of ammunition to “kill ‘nonwhite people’ such as African Americans, Hispanics and Jewish people,” according to a police report filed today in court.
After forcing his way into a home and raping a 22-year-old woman, the alleged assailant, Keith Luke, shot and killed the woman’s younger sister, who tried to help her. Luke, 22, then allegedly turned his fury back on the rape victim, firing his gun through a white teddy bear that she clutched in terror, police said.
Down the street, Luke allegedly opened fire and killed a homeless man who happened by pushing a shopping cart. He told police after his arrest that he had planned to go to a synagogue near his home and, “kill as many Jews as possible during bingo night,” according to the report. “Luke told us that he intended to shoot himself in the head when he was through.”
Rabbi Joshua Cohen of Temple Beth Emunah, a Conservative synagogue in the neighborhood where Luke lives, said a Massachusetts state trooper and Brockton police officer told him this morning that Luke evidently had planned to continue his rampage at the temple. The synagogue has a bingo night Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m.
Cohen said he has never heard of Luke and believes the man had randomly decided to target the synagogue. Investigators told Cohen that Luke was acting alone.
“Through hard work and a lot of luck, the police were able to apprehend him before he was able to inflict more damage and more death and destruction,” Cohen said. “As much as we like to think we’ve moved forward in our society and culture, hate and racism still exist, and it’s really unfortunate.”
On Wednesday, Luke allegedly fired at police as he was pursued in his van across Brockton, a chase that ended in a crash at East Ashland and North Quincy streets. Sitting in the back of the squad car, he muttered unintelligibly, according to the report, about “the Zionist occupation” and about how, “I was supposed to be executed today.”
Following last summer’s church shootings in Knoxville, as well as the various acts of violence and threats following Barack Obama’s election, we may be seeing the beginnings of a dangerous trend here.
I have a book coming out in May titled The Eliminationists: How Hate Talk Radicalized the American Right which is aimed at exploring the roots of these actions. It’s looking like it will be timely indeed.
Obama’s Speaking Indonesian Dazzles at State Dept.
ABC News’ Kirit Radia Reports: As President Obama worked the rope-line at the State Department Thursday, a State Department staffer named Charles Silver, knowing the President once lived in Indonesia, shouted out, “good afternoon” in the local language.
Obama responded back in what Silver later told ABC News was “very good” Bahasa Indonesian. The two then chatted briefly about the neighborhood Obama once lived in.
When the staffer asked if Obama had lived in the Jakarta neighborhood where embassy staffers live, Obama replied that was for rich people, and he lived in another neighborhood with a similar name, one that Silver said is where the “real people” live.
Silver told ABC News that he has been stationed in Indonesia off and on since 1969. He’s currently working in the State Department’s Office of Inspector General.
As far back as March 2007, Obama pointed to his years in Indonesia as helping to prepare him for the presidency.
“If I go to Jakarta and address the largest Muslim country on earth, I can say, ‘Apa kabar,’ — you know, ‘How are you doing?’ — and they can recognize that I understand their common humanity,” Obama told the National Jewish Democratic Council during a Washington, D.C. forum.
“That is a strength,” he continued, “and it allows me to say things to them that other presidents might not be able to say. And that’s part of what’s promising, I think, about this presidency.”
Mississippi Paper Offers Apology for Its ‘Gross Neglect’ During Civil Rights Struggle
NEW YORK In a remarkable statement on day before the birthday holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. — and two days before the inauguration of Barack Obama — the Meridian (Miss.) Star has, in an editorial, offered an apology for its past coverage of civil rights issues.
It closed: “There was a time when this newspaper – and many others across the south — acted with gross neglect by largely ignoring the unfairness of segregated schools, buses, restaurants, washrooms, theaters and other public places.
“We did it through omission, by not recording for our readers many of the most important civil rights activities that happened in our midst, including protests and sit-ins. That was wrong. We should have loudly protested segregation and the efforts to block voter registration of black East Mississippians.
“Current management understands while we can’t go back and undo some past wrongs, we can offer our sincere apology — and promise never again to neglect our responsibility to inform you, our readers, about the human rights and dignity every individual is entitled to in America — no matter their religion, their ethnic background or the color of their skin.”
In a front page story, editor Fredie Carmichael recalled, in a moving essay, that one of the three slain civil rights workers in 1964, James Chaney, hailed from Meridian. His lengthy piece recounted the episode — and its meaning today.
The full editorial follows. It is all at:

Tomorrow, as the nation celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we also pause to remember those in East Mississippi who were integral in the American civil rights movement.
