Video & Photos of Barack Obama At College Game
Barack Obama attended today’s college basketball matchup between No. 7 Georgetown and No. 8 Duke. Among his companions were Joe Biden, David Axelrod, Robert Gibbs and Reggie Love.
The president also offered commentary during part of the CBS broadcast of the game. He said that he typically does not have time to watch entire college basketball games, but stays up to date by watching SportsCenter. He’ll make an exception for the Final Four and watch all of the games. Read the rest of this entry »
Yet another amazing rescue in Haiti
It’s been over a week since the Haitian earthquake devastated the country. Sadly, at this point, finding survivors is becoming increasingly rare. Still, there are glorious exceptions — like Kiki, the young boy who flashed a million-dollar smile after being lifted from the rubble.
The rescue was captured on camera. As you’ll see below, Kiki’s older sister, Sabrina, was pulled out first. Seven-year-old Kiki comes out next, looking a bit dazed. However, after seeing the crowd, the survivor immediately smiles and extends his arms in triumph. A photographer from the New York Post described the scene and the crowd’s reaction.
After so much heartbreak and tragedy, this was a rescue that inspired the masses. When asked why he smiled so broadly, Kiki responded, “I smiled because I was free, I smiled because I was alive.”
After being treated for their injuries and dehydration, the two children were reunited with their parents. No doubt the children were happy. In time they’ll understand just how happy they’d made everyone else.

Tupac’s “Changes” Named As One Of The Vatican’s “12 Favorite Songs” (Video)
Almost exactly eleven years after its posthumous release, legendary rapper Tupac Shakur’s 1998 hit “Changes” has been selected by the Vatican as one of the institution’s “12 Favorite Songs” as part of a playlist for MySpace’s new streaming service MySpace Music.
The distinction is the first time the Catholic Church has officially recognized the work of any popular American artist. With it, the song joins the ranks of works such as “Don Giovanni” by Mozart, the Vatican’s own “Advocata Nostra,” featuring the voice of Pope Benedict XVI, and “After The Rain,” by Dame Shirley Bassey.
“The genres are very different from each other, but all these artists share the aim to reach the heart of good minded people,” the Vatican explained on its official MySpace Music page.
The playlist, compiled by Father Giulio Neroni, was released Thursday, December 3 – and “Changes” has received nearly five million plays since then.
“This came as such an amazing surprise – it’s not something I would have ever thought possible,” says the late rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur. “I give thanks every day, knowing Tupac’s words and music continue to have such an incredible effect on people worldwide. My son was always striving to reach out to as many people as he could, and he changed the world in doing so.”
Released two years after the rapper’s death in 1998, “Changes” has been acknowledged as one of Tupac’s all-time classics ever since, with a message that resonates just as strongly today. The song is a streetwise meditation on racism, the Middle East, drugs and gang violence coupled with a call for hope and peace. In essence, it highlights the need for change on both a personal and global level.
“Let’s change the way we eat, let’s change the way we live, let’s change the way we treat each other,” states Tupac on the track. “You see, the old way wasn’t working, so it’s on us to do what we gotta do to survive.”
The acclaimed single climbed to the top of the charts upon its release and became the only posthumously released Hip-Hop song to receive the Grammy nomination for “Best Rap Solo Performance.” It recently confirmed its lasting power when it hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Ringtones Chart (November 7, 2009), a spot it held for a whopping 34 weeks.
“It’s a testament to Tupac’s genius that his music can have this kind of impact more than ten years after the fact,” says Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovine. “This is an unprecedented honor to his legacy, as well as for those who had the privilege of working with him during his lifetime.”
In additional Tupac news, it was announced in September that the artist’s private writings would be added to Atlanta University Center’s Robert Woodruff Library – an institution that also houses Martin Luther King’s papers – to be made available for scholarly research.
The collection features Shakur’s handwritten lyrics and track listings, personal notes, video and film concepts, fan correspondence, promotion materials and other items providing a unique insight into his creative genius.

*shock* Hispanic woman adopts black baby and then gives it back * video*
I found this article today and tried to be fair about my judgement of this woman before I finished the article. Basically, a hispanic mother of 5 adopts a black baby, tries to bond with the baby over the course of 18 months and realizes that she isn’t able to bond with the baby ..fine so far right? Well guess what…she is blaming herself and she is also blaming the BABY for the reason why she wasn’t bonding with her new child! She says “the baby shares some of the responsibility for this lack of bonding” . How can an innocent little baby be responsible for anything?
See I really hate to cry racism in a situation like this, because I truly DO NOT think a hispanic woman who choses to adopt a black child would have any level of racist tendencies, especially towards a baby. So explain to me how you can easily raise 5 latin children , but cannot handle a tiny black baby ? Was she not prepared for the cultural shock of raising a black child in a hispanic family? Maybe she isn’t strong enough to handle the stares and the double takes she may be getting from her community.. Or maybe she just realized she was in over her head..either way, I am very disgusted by her openly adding blame to the BABY for her issue with it!
What makes me even angrier is that there are many women (white of course) who “admire” her honesty and don’t think she is wrong to do this..I wonder if they would feel the same way if the baby was white, and after 18 months she gave the baby back and blamed it for not bonding with her. I think this is very suspect and maybe she just wanted to be like Angelina Jolie too much and figured out you can’t fake love for a black child. I can tell you Angelina loves her kids, you can see it on her face , but this woman is weak, and that child is better off without her sorry butt. Read the story and watch the video …. Bill O’Reilly Says Jackson Is No Black Icon
America’s #2 head racist is at it again ( #1 is Rush Limbaugh)..don’t you just love Fox News?
FOX News host Bill O’Reilly is famous for incendiary statements and no holds barred debates, and he continued his streak of controversial comments in his first broadcast after Michael Jackson’s memorial service Tuesday. After opening the segment with a pledge to honor the Jackson family’s request for privacy, O’Reilly digs right in with criticisms of Jackson’s kids, spending habits – and skin care.
First, O’Reilly calls out Jackson’s “incredible selfishness – spending hundreds of million dollars on himself while singing ‘We Are the World,’” and adds that it “should make any clear-thinking American nauseous.”
While Jackson died leaving millions of dollars in debt accrued in part by wild spending, he raised or donated enormous sums of money to charity during his long career. A full list of Jackson’s charitable activities was complied by JacksonAction, including millions donated to the Michael Jackson Burn Center for Children, $1.5 donated to the Michael Jackson UNCF Endowed Scholarship Fund and more.
The issue of race is next up for O’Reilly, who asks, “Why are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton making this a racial deal? Jackson bleached his own skin. And then chose white men to provide existence for his in vitro children. Give me a break with all this.”
Guest analyst Marc Lamont Hill, PhD – an African American FOX commentator – responds, “You have me baffled in your analysis here, to say this isn’t a racial issue, when this man’s entire career has been marked by the tropes of race… Yes, the black community has embraced him, yes the black community has wrapped its arms around him more in death, but that’s because the media has assaulted him in ways they don’t do with white people of his stature.”
Hill continues, “Now he has passed away. A year or two ago, when Jerry Falwell died, you and I debated this very point. You said, ‘Give him three days to a week and let the people mourn him before you start talking about his racist politics.’ So why are we giving Jerry Falwell something that we won’t give Michael Jackson?”
The two went back and forth on whether Michael Jackson had served as a bridge between black and white Americans. The debate devolved into a shouting match, which reached its peaked with O’Reilly shouting, “If he’s such a black American icon, why did he have his kids with white men!?”
Hill answers, “That’s a personal matter. That doesn’t make him less black – there’s no blackness meter here. You don’t become less black if you have a white kid.”
Michael Jackson Fans Raise Money To Defeat Peter King
There is, it turns out, a political price to pay when you make bold statements calling out Michael Jackson for some of the nefarious moments of his personal history.
Fans of Jackson are mobilizing to raise money for an opponent — any opponent — to run against Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., following the critical remarks the congressman made about the recently deceased pop icon.
Over the weekend, King said that the media had gone far over the top in glorifying Jackson, who he deemed a “low-life” pervert who “may have been a good singer” and “did some dancing.”
Now, an ActBlue fundraising site has been set up by “A fan of Michael Jackson” titled “Michael Jackson Fans AGAINST Peter King.”
Here is the offensive video
The site says……”Congressman Peter King is at again, this time defaming the late Michael Jackson, calling MJ a “pervert’, ‘low-life”, and a “pedophile”. As Rick Sanchez noted on CNN, Michael Jackson was acquitted of the charges against him. Peter King ought to let Jackson rest in peace, and focus on the needs of his constituents. As we mourn the loss of an American legend, political grandstanding is not what we need right now!”
“Peter King ought to let Jackson rest in peace, and focus on the needs of his constituents. As we mourn the loss of an American legend, political grandstanding is not what we need right now!” the page reads. “Fans of Michael Jackson and his legacy stand united against Peter King’s hateful words. Please donate here to show Peter King that true MJ fans won’t stand for the smearing of a pop sensation!”
The fund is being set up to benefit the Democratic nominee for New York’s third congressional district — a reliable Republican stronghold. The problem is that at this time, there is no Democratic nominee. And King has flirted with a run for New York’s governor’s chair in 2010. Still, it will be interesting to see the extent to which Michael Jackson devotees can mobilize politically. Who would have thought that the King of Pop’s legacy would become a partisan issue?

Story & Photos From MSNBC.com
Michael Jackson has died at age 50 after being rushed to UCLA Medical Center, NBC News has confirmed.
Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told the L.A. Times that Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home and CPR was performed.
TMZ.com reported that he may have suffered cardiac arrest.
Jackson had been due to start a series of comeback concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer, whose hits included “Thriller” and “Billie Jean,” had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months.
The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within minutes of going on sale in March.
His lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, makes him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.
He lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation.
There were concerns about Jackson’s health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.
A life in music
Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. Five Jackson boys — Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael — first performed together at a talent show when Michael was 6.
- Singing with the kids
They walked off with first prize and went on to become a best-selling band, The Jackson Five, and then The Jackson 5.Jackson made his first solo album in 1972, and released “Thriller” in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-10 singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide.
The next year, he unveiled his signature “moonwalk” dance move while performing “Billie Jean” during an NBC special.
In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together.
Jackson has three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, known for his brief public appearance when his father held him over the railing of a hotel balcony, causing widespread criticism.

Don’t underestimate Halle Berry and Jamie Foxx when it comes to keeping it hot and heavy!
Over the past few weeks, photos have surfaced of the two Academy Award winners communicating (via their tongues) during Spike TV’s second annual Guy’s Choice Awards.

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle: Rap’s official ugliest baby mama period.
I already know what the commenter’s are going say after reading this…”Oh, your just jealous”, “stop hating”, blah blah blah. Let me make it easy for you. I am not jealous, because I think Tiny is by far the most unattractive hip hop (wife/common law) period. Her nose is ENORMOUS, and her faced is shaped like a man’s, square and long, she has no neck, a short torso and she just looks lumpy. Like usual, in the black world, since she is light skinned with long hair, she is considered “fine” by some. What about her man hands? That short, stout, oddly shaped body? I mean come on. What is so hot about this girl and why does anyone want to document her life?
There are countless of light skinned beauties with long hair in hip hop that are by definition simply beautiful..but Tiny is NOT one of them….Toya is clearly the hotter of the two..easily.
Yes she has a lot of money, but she only has money because she guaranteed herself a paycheck by having TI’s babies. So being jealous of her because she has money isn’t something no strong minded independent woman need to worry about because finding a rich guy and getting knocked up for him takes no brain power, ask Kelis. Besides, that isn’t her money , it’s his. Read the rest of this entry »
